Sex and the City 2

I've been trying to get a sneak peak at the outrageous new outfits we'll see on our beloved Carrie... but nothing I found was too exciting for me personally (Although there wil be some hilarious 80s flashbacks) I love these Glittery Gold Christian Louboutins though....

Mad Mad Men

Don Draper would like to wish you a happy Friday, and also to tell you that 'Mad Men' has a deal with Banana Republic coming up. The clothing retailer will sell a line of suits inspired by the men of Sterling Cooper. I think that would be better if each suit came with Don inside, but no matter.

Green Roofs for a Healthy City

An aerial view of most urban areas shows swathes of asphalt, black tar and gravel-ballasted rooftops. Heat radiates off of the dark roofs, and water rushes over the hard, hopefully impermeable surfaces. Yet, there is a new trend that breaks up the monotony of common roofs: green rooftops. Long popular in Europe, green rooftops have begun to appeal to homeowners, businesses and even cities as an attractive way to promote environmentalism while solving the problems of conventional roofs. Green roofs supplement traditional vegetation without disrupting urban infrastructure -- they take a neglected space and make it useful.
Green roofs last longer than conventional roofs, reduce energy costs with natural insulation, create peaceful retreats for people and animals, and absorb storm water, potentially lessening the need for complex and expensive drainage systems. On a wider scale, green roofs improve air quality and help reduce the Urban Heat Island Effect, a condition in which city and suburban developments absorb and trap heat. Anyone who has walked across a scalding parking lot on a hot, summer day has felt one effect of an Urban Heat Island.

Kurt Vonnegut

Armageddon in Retrospect
by Kurt Vonnegut
"The first collection of unpublished works by Kurt Vonnegut since his death — a fitting tribute to the author, and an essential contribution to the discussion of war, peace, and humanity’s tendency toward violence. Armageddon in Retrospect is a collection of twelve unpublished writings on war and peace. Imbued with Vonnegut’s trademark rueful humor, the pieces range from a visceral nonfiction recollection of the destruction of Dresden during World War II — an essay that is as timely today as it was then — to a painfully funny short story about three Army privates and their fantasies of the perfect first meal upon returning home from war, to a darker, more poignant story about the impossibility of shielding our children from the temptations of violence. Also included are Vonnegut’s last speech as well as an assortment of his artwork, and an introduction by the author’s son, Mark Vonnegut."

Coachella gtes TRASHed!!

Its amazing all my friends who made it to Coachella!!! Im sad to not be able to go but I am sure it was madness and everyone enjoyed! Tell me stories! Send me pictures!

Global Inheritance is a non-profit group that essentially proposed the idea of having recycling bin art at Coachella. It was so successful it's first year, that they brought out nearly 110 bins the next year. Festivals used to not have recycling programs, and Eric wanted to create an awareness amongst the festival-goers, so they could start to have the mind set to recycle and not just throw away all the cans and bottles that are consumed at an event like Coachella. Eric Ritz really wants to get people's attention with the art bins. " It's just about getting people to take notice and get into the habit of recycling. Art’s a great medium because it inspires, like music, and it inspires lots of people. I think visually people get excited about what's happening.

Chloe Sevigny covers A Magazine

Check out my favorite girl Chloe Sevigny on the cover of a really beautifully curated magazine, A Magzine. Really check it out... Each issue focuses around one designer, guest curator. To be honest I don't think this cover does justice to the magazine.

A MAGAZINE is a biannual publication, exploring the creative sphere of a selected designer in each issue. We invite a guest curator – an international fashion designer, group or house – to develop innovative, personalised content that expresses their aesthetic and cultural values.
Each issue celebrates this designer’s ethos: their people, their passion, their stories, emotions, fascinations, spontaneity and authenticity. As such A MAGAZINE exists as an entirely dynamic title – a cultural statement for individuality in an increasingly homogenous industry.
Centered around A MAGAZINE’s guest curator is a team of editors, with content provided by an international network of contributors and collaborators. Each of these creative relationships with an artist, photographer, musician, graphic designer etc. starts with a conversation. This artistic dialogue leads to beautiful projects, special friendships and a fusion of explosive talent to create work that transcends the ordinary. A MAGAZINE is a unique niche product both on the conceptual and advertorial level. Alongside purely artistic content, we create hybrid promotional opportunities for collaborators, enabling the production of site-specific content that goes beyond common commercial restrictions.
Each A MAGAZINE is a new story waiting to be told."
